We ran into the same situation at our old apartment complex...
Really lame IMHO...
My roommate had a hearse, used it as his everyday vehicle.
I had a lowered and modded out lil rice rocket.
Neighbors "apparently complained" about noise from my car, and just being creeped out in general by the roomies(we had constant problems with the property manager at the time, so it could have just been her), anyways long story short, both my roommate and I had to park our cars off lot, which sucked.
