Yes, music has a message, be it deep or not. I've been listening to rap since I was 13 and this is what MOST rappers portray. To say otherwise is ridiculous.

But to say that bands like Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Clash, and many other great bands dont have deep messages in their songs makes no sense. The difference between those bands and modern rappers (and modern bands in general) is that those were REAL artists, and actually cared about saying something in their musice.
