Local L.A. Story (Hit-And-Run) pits Customer Privacy against Government Demands.

Bit of a sad story, but with an encouraging twist.

Investigating a local hit-and-run, officials apparently approached Mercedes Benz to find a suspect's car via a LoJack system... and Mercedes Benz said "Go Fuck Yourself," choosing customer privacy over compliance of any suggested court order.

I feel this is encouraging... despite whatever the police chief might have to say about it.

Of course, I sincerely hope they find the guy, and am sure that they will.
