Ehm, opinion polls were done before the invasion. Iraqis, both living abroad as well as in Iraq, were strongly opposed to the invasion. Although a majority opposed Saddam, they were afraid of the deaths an invasion would cause among Iraqi civilians. Unsurprisingly, their fears proved to be well-founded.
Seriously, did you believe the Iraqi people supported the invasion?
