I don't think I've actually ever seen a fight like that... Usually it's a bunch of people kicking the shit out of one or two others, or maybe someone pulling out a knife.
Personally I practice the ancient art of cellphone-kata - I disappear like a ninja, then call the police and shout "zomg come quick!!1". Hasn't ever failed me so far
