I've been thinking of getting one and everyone says they are great, but how are they compared to other video/music devices like archos? (

Ive been using my phone (tmobile MDA) to play music, but its been letting me down more and more recently. I added a 2gb card but the phone keeps freezing or just stops playing music.
Any thoughts? Is there any new version of the video ipod coming out soon that supports a better resolution or has the ability to play back on a TV?
