Truthfully all my aunts are special, uncles too for that matter. But I was just closer to this particular aunt than the others is all. Her husband died when she was just 55 yrs old (She was 79 this year), and she lived the remainder of her life alone in that respect. Her house badly needed work done on it for years, so one summer in the late 90's I took a week off work and drove down there with my painting and renovation kit, gutted her living room, put up new drywall, taped, patched, mudded, primed and painted, and made her home look like new again. She has raved about me doing that for her for years, but the truth is she did much more for me back then and over the years. It was my pleasure to help her out.
She was a truly special lady, and anyone that knew her would say the same. She loved people, she loved life, loved to eat (yet she was just a little snip of a thing at barely 100 lbs even when healthy), she always had the coffee on and food on the table for anyone who dropped by her place, and she loved to talk up a storm.
