I really don't believe that Lieberman had any effect on the ticket in 2000.
If you have a link to some exit polling that says otherwise I'd be willing to read it.
Personally I think that MOST people who wouldn't vote for a ticket with a black man on it, wouldn't vote democrat anyways.
Also, I think that having a black man on the ticket will put southern states into play that are normally shoe-ins for the republican nominee. (because registration and turnout among southern blacks will be at an all time high) I think it changes the entire dynamic of the election in favor of the Dems.
