These are territorial fish and in a 55 gallon at the sizes they are might not be so friendly towards each other. Although I do think that shageman is exagerating quite a bit, they will fight.

You are on drugs man, in that size of a tank they cant make claim their own spot with out fighting, let him keep them in there for another month or so and write back. I bet there are oscars left but in bad shape, and the dempsy that is left he will flush down the toilet for the fact it killed one and beat up his other oscars, google it and see
