I was out late last night and grabbing some soda and smokes, they had no coke only pepsi in 2 liters. So I bought it. I like the taste better, its sweeter and smoother, and I always have.

But......coke has always been branded into my head since i was 2 seconds old and thats what ive been accustomed to buying. If I go to the grocery store and get "cola", I'm certain to buy coke and I almost always have coke in my fridge even though I know my tastebuds prefer pepsi.

That's the power of market branding. Most people buy coke, but in a blind test you'd be hard up to find people preferring the taste.
