An armed thug with or without a uniform... what the difference? Commander-in-chief or private company... I see no difference. They're all hired thugs. They're all mercenaries.
As I said, the only soldier worthy of any respect IMO is the man who will pick up a weapon and defend his country when it is under direct attack from a foreign army. The last time that happened was over 60 years ago.
