The right-wingers try to dredge up 'horror stories' about socialised medicine but the reality is, by and large, those in countries that have it, love it. Liberals and conservatives. Its rare you find something that almost everyone in a country agrees with. Socialised medicine is one of those things.
Why people trust private enterprise more than the government staggers me sometimes. You dont vote for the leaders of big business. The average person has no say in the affairs of the corporate world. But they have a vote. They can help change a government. No system is perfect but one of the purposes of government is to protect its citizens. Having healthcare available to all is the very basis of that, as well as equal opportunity. How can any country claim to have equal opportunity when an education and health care is not provided to ALL its citizens?
In short: They can't.

Very well said.
The only thing I differ on Moore about on this matter is the elimination of the private system altogether. I say offer universal care through the government and let the private system sort itself out for those that want to still pay and use it.
