Yours is an extreme example but it brings up a pet peeve of many people including me...
It really is amazing how long it takes some programs to return emails. This often seems to be independent of how much traffic you send and the size of the sponsor.
I think 24 hours is reasonable even for an auto responder or a quick "ok lemme look into this" simple confirmation that your email did make it thru' and that someone is working on it.
Some sponsors say contact us again if you don't hear back within a WEEK. How did that become the standard response time?
but often times even take more than that if they ever respond and if they do answer eventually you have usually even forgotten why you wanted to know or figured out an answer or used an alternative sponsor etc in the meantime.
But many of the same people are instantly available 24/7 on ICQ
which is great but as we all know icq can be flaky and some stuff is more detailed than a quick message so it's not a replacement for email.
If you can't get some kind of answer, even a quick one in 24 hours, the rep has too many accounts or something else needs to be fixed.
oh of course the other classic is when you ask the person five questions in the email and they answer one and leave it up to you to follow up about the other four.
