That was definitely my favorite time period in wrestling, along with the World Class/Von Erich era. As a kid growing up I thought for sure I wanted to be a pro wrestler. I had a wrestler for a roommate for a couple of years and got to hang out backstage at a lot of the shows, then later helped promote a few shows and was involved in a few other wrestling ventures. Seeing a lot of what went on backstage and on the road really soured me on the biz and damaged the hero worship I had as a kid, which is a terrible thing to lose in life...
