hell, put one of those personal alarms in there. When they reach in they'll trip it and break their legs trying to run.
Or a camera, or a flash bulb, or any motion sensor device.
If it were me, I'd probably sit there in the dark just waiting and kick their little punk asses then detain them for the police.
