interesting - I know a man of god who after 4 kids one turned out to be mentally handicapped. I can never say that once in the 30 years I have known him has he been unfaithful but a strong believer in God and walked the walk. I would think if that nurse and your friend took at look at his life, they would find NO wrong.
Next time you see them, mention Job - who lost everything and his friends accused him of worse things than you. Who the hell are they to judge you and what God is doing? If they are without sin - allow them to cast the first stone.
