Here's the real story : The pie of people who will buy subscriptions to a paysite because they like a thumbnail is fixed. Joe Schmuck (aka, you
) starting a new tgp does not increase that pie.
Ever since 1999, all of that pie has been seeing TGP's and buying into paysites. It's not like Joe Schmuck (aka, you
) is exposing any new people, especially not by buying them off choker and trading them with bigger TGPs.
What you will accomplish, however, is get a (tiny) slice of the pie yourself.
How big is the pie ? Let's ballpark it at 100,000 people that buy 20 bucks of paysite subscription every year. so, 2 Million a year. It's not that big, not nearly, not with all the torrents, and not after the toolbar hackers fleece your traffic for their share, and so on. But let's dream.
There's, to ballpark again, about 2-3k people currently working their ass off at splitting that pie. So, basically, you're looking at a natural slice of about 1k a year.
Except, of those 2-3k, maybe 2-3 dozen are actually good. They get half. The next couple hundred get half of the rest (so a quarter).
You (
) and the other 2k Joe Schmucks just starting out, who need to have someone else write scripts for them and buy traffic and so forth are splitting the last quarter. So, you will make, 250 bucks the first year. Most of it later in the year, so your first three months will be one sale. Yay.
Try spending your time adding value (ie, increase the pie) instead of fiddling the way it's being split. It's going to pay better in the long run.
And as a rule of thumb (
) trust recipes less. This aint cooking.
