1) Days are longer, people aren't in front of their computers as much.
2) Schools and colleges are out, families take vacations.
3) Big economic sectors, like retail, are in slow season, so unemployment is higher during the summer.
4) Gas prices are higher in the summer, which cuts into people's spending money.

Just my thoughts...
