I like to get a feeling for which sponsors are currently paying for big booths at the show. When I'm evaluating whether or not to use new affiliate programs, I like to know whether they are big on publicity or if they are running a little lower under the radar.
It's also nice to catch up with friends from before, and meet new people - the vast majority seem to be very knowledgeable about what they do.
