Was looking up videos on youtube after that F1 crash today and got me thinking of Alex Zanardi.
Back before Indy Car had it's spit when CART was in it's prime, Alex Zanardi was the man. I found a cool tribute video of him which brings back memories of the only thing I cared about was figuring out how i was going to race Indy Cars.
I did a lot of racing back when I was younger and I just knew somehow I was going to race open wheel professional road racing, too bad money was never on my side. I think it was Zanardi's crash that made me give up that dream. When I was racing I always felt I had control and that I could avoid what ever happened, kinda felt like I could do anything on the track.
After his crash kinda put the reality into it for me so I ended up giving up on that dream. It kinda sucks to think about it because I turned down a sprint car ride this year that I would have killed for a few years ago.
I guess it sucks when you get older and reality sets in..

(btw the 1st actual video in this titled "Laguna Seca '96" is probably the best pass I've ever seen. Was a last lap pass on the last set of corners to win the race)
