Yeah, but what I've learned about artists is...
When you try to tell them what to play, they don't listen and they look down on that.
I told George Clinton and P-Funk to wait to play Maggot Brain (it's super slow and lasts over 15 minutes).
The played it too early anyway.
Artists like their artist freedom to play what they want. If you tell them what to do they feel like wedding singers. And I respect that.
I still try to coach them anyway, so they realize our crowd isn't there for them, they're there because it's an industry event and I brought a big name artist to enhance the moment. Then I cross my fingers.
With Chris Cornell, he'll probably play like 2 to 4 older songs that rock, but he might put people to sleep with the others. I've seen our crowd walk out when the set turns too slow.
