Since it will be a lot of professionals, and you seem like you want the thoughtfullness points. I have a suggestion that can take care of dinner/party in Oregon.
Mind you I think the Comedy club idea is pretty fly, but unknown comics, and a 30 bday.. could spell disaster. Potential for a bad comic or two, or worse the comic could hear of the birthday and well over the hill jokes abound with you getting your ass reamed latter on.
