Lewis was a true heavyweight and crippled him. All because they were better & smarter boxers. Hollyfield punished him far too much. That should have been stopped sooner. The lewis fight should have been stopped sooner. He was just being tortured.
He'll never compare to Ali or Marciano or Joe Louis. He just wasn't smart enough. Part of professional boxing is intelligence. Watch the fights. Watch lewis and hollyfield literally destroy him. He wasn't over the hill. He didn't have the technical skill to adapt to truly great fighters. He got confused and was dominated and I think punished way too hard for his sins.
They beat him beyond the pale and it was uncalled for because it's good for ratings to see someone suffer.
Tyson was a great fighter there's no doubt and it's a shame he got thrown to the dogs and brutalized when his people had to know he was outclassed.
I feel sorry for him. He got beat to death so promoters could get rich. There was no one to say toss in the towel because they're better. They just looked at him as a money train. Tyson was over when "Cus" D'Amato died.

I don't believe this nonsense...Tyson may not have been a technical boxer but in his prime and in great shape (which he was not in for either of those fights), he would have won against each of them. And you can't honestly say that Evander Holyfield is smart, that guy is dumb as bricks. He was trained to be technically sound and all that training allowed him to not have to think during that fight, routine took over in that fight...and the head butts didn't hurt either, that's why he got his fucking ear bit off!
