Let's start at the top. NOBODY in their right mind would assume for a second that AFF dropping their ads would "solve it". Far from it. But last time I looked, AFF was the largest single affiliate system in the adult world, and as such, their moves have a great impact on the industry. Like it or not, they are the leaders, and where they are leading us all so far is down the fucking toilet.
AFF dropping torrent sites wouldn't get rid of torrent sites. NO SHIT! But if AFF says no, and other programs join the INDUSTRY LEADERS in saying no, it makes it harder for every fool with a $59 server in the netherlands to run a torrent site for profit.
Repeat after me "There are no 100% solutions... but 50% of a solution is better than sticking our heads in the sand".
Stickyfingers, you talk about "if the door falls off my house I should just watch people walk in and take shit". You are missing the point. People are forcibly ripping the door of it's hinges and stealing shit. This isn't "you left the door open", this is "home invasion". People are buying memberships to sites, ripping the content, cancelling their memberships, and spewing the entire site all over the net. People aren't picking up dropped change on the street, they are turning the porn industry upside down and shaking it until the money comes out.
Like it or not, Lars and his ilk provide the currency that makes this all go. Just like fences buying stolen shit for pennies on the dollar, Lars is buying traffic from these sites with clear understanding that the material on the site is there without permission. They don't care where the traffic comes from, as long as it comes - and the people selling it don't care because their overhead is just this side of NIL.
AFF has gone from a great affiliate program that always paid into the poster child for how to how far companies will go to fuck their friends and affiliates for a few dollars. Why anyone would tolerate it is beyond me.

Oh so then you agree the underlying problem is with the content being given away right? Or are you just confused, and still wanting to blame it on aff?
