Brazil is completely self suffecient when it comes to Fuel.
Why are we not adapting this instead of the entire country bitching about gas prices????

First of all even if we used all farmland for growing corn and all that corn was used for ethanol we still would have enough to fuel our needs.
Second, every ear of corn used for fuel is one not being used for FOOD. Thus the cost of food goes up. And not just corn on the cob or canned corn. Many foods have corn in it. All animals we eat are fed corn based feed. So the cost of meat will go up.
Until something other than corn can be cheaply made into ethanol, ethanol is a fool's dream.
Brazil uses 10% the oil we do. Landwise they are the same size as the US so of course they could supply their countries needs with ethenol easier.
