I always hold my youngest sons hand around streets and things but inside like that i may just keep a hand on is shoulder and let him stand in front of me. It's very possible for him to run with no warning and could happen to anyone. the mother was right on her tail and it was clearly not a matter of neglect in my opinion .. I also think that anyone that doesn't have kids shouldn't even comment on the issue because you have no clue.
