As far as UFC and Pride, how did UFC manage to buy Pride? Isn't Pride the bigger and better network? Pride is better, more fierce, with more devastating fights.

Bad management from Dream Stage Ent... they got tied up to the Yakusa (or the other org) and lost their TV deal over there. Everything went down from there.
The UFC on the other hand, aren't paying their fighters that much and have been constantly selling over a million pay per view every event lately.
They are rumored to have bought pride for 70 mills.

Actually they made the announcement a while ago but they OWN it since less then a week ago. They said in a press conference last week that they are not dropping the ball on pride (would be stupid, huge brand recognition in Japan).
The fightters they signed lately all have in their contracts that they can fight both in the UFC and Pride FC
