You won't have an artist for long at those prices... Unless he/she lives in albania or somewhere you can buy a house for a dollar.
What people don't seem to get is that artwork is not photography, it takes artists up to 6-8 hours to produce a good illustration, at the VERY minimum 30 minutes for a simple piece (And we're talking cookie cutter rush job here, especially if it's colour...)
So do the math, 3 dollars for a pic, half goes to the broker, right? And it took an hour to do, whee... 1.5$ per hour. How much do they pay for flipping burgers in mcdonalds again?
