Although I don't talk to a whole lot of newbies... sometimes they randomly hit me up on icq. If they have a couple questions i'll answer them and be friendly, but if they want a step by step walkthrough on what I do I ignore them. I don't walk into a store and ask the manager exact details on how they conduct business, where they advertise, etc... it doesn't fly anywhere else, why should it in this industry?

I had to learn on my own, so should they... Not to mention, if they do exactly what I do then they're taking a chunk of my pie.

If you're running an affiliate program I can see more reasons to help newbies, they could (although very unlikely in my experience) turn into profitable webmasters someday.
