Paid spots are becoming less profitable for sure. In the beginning its great to tap into new traffic sources but in time its obvious that more and more people will find out your methods. Same with submit passes as well, they are becoming less profitable these days as the competition is too great.
I'm just mixing it all up right now and its working well. Trying all different kinds of passes and so on... I'm sure you guys will get back to where you were
