I can open all PSD's ... I created PSD's with version 7 years ago that I can now open with no problems, and of course, with CS.... that works also.

I honestly don't think Adobe will ignore you ... if you ask them. Tell them you will not be buying Adobe CS3 because the files wont open. Then explain what happens ... they'll help you I am sure
