No, they didn't. They killed a majority of them. From there, Vader hunts down and kills the remaining Jedi. By the time Episode 4 starts, only 2 remain, Yoda and Kenobi. Both of which Vader believed to have been already dead.
I already knew there would be a minimum of 3 more movies. Shortly after the release of Sith, a report went out that Lucas was going to work on 7 - 9. Many are hoping it is based on the novels by Timothy Zahn, as it was a damn good trilogy, but I know deep down, Lucas will find a way to fuck up Star Wars even more.
