I maybe wrong on this one but my intention was good and I'm sticking to my guns. My son is 10 and we are going camping in 2 weeks. I carry a pocket knife all the time and i thought he could handle the responsibility of having his own for the trip. I gave him a little pocket knife (i dulled it a bit
) and sat with him and had a long talk about the dangers of the knife and when and what to use it for. He keeps it in a safe place and cannot take it out of the house unless i say he can. just fishing and camping ..stuff like that.
I kinda forgot to clear this with the wife and she had a fit when she found out. she wanted me to take it away and i said no i think he can handle it and every boy should have a pocket knife at some point . taking it away now would make me look bad and make him feel like she doesn't trust him.
I know i should have talked to her first but am i wrong for letting him have one at 10. she also gets pissed when i let him target shoot with an airsoft gun (while I'm there) I don't see the harm in that either.
What do you guys think? do i need to buy her a gift ..
