Lose weight for summer! Very simple ideas/strategies that I'm already using.

I've lost a good 7-8lbs since Monday of this week... today is only Thursday. I started with extra water-weight I suppose, but either way - I weigh less than I did on Monday and my pants fit much better, so I am happy about that.

Diet:

* Lots of water (I drink iced tea a lot too (which aside from the caffeine is okay).

* Incorporate more fresh fruits/vegetables daily (as mentioned in another thread).

* Eat smaller portions throughout the day (instead of 3 helpings of something, have 3/4ths of a single helping of it).

* Do not overeat... and in my opinion - walking away full is a terrible thing to do. Put your plate in the sink/dishwasher (after cleaning it off) when you know that "if I finish this bite I'll be full"...... so instead of being full - you'll be satisfied.

* Eat slower. You will get full and will have taken in less food than if you ate at a quicker speed.

Keep in mind - it takes your body a few minutes to tell your mind that you are full!

* Exercise = walk, jump-rope (great), and cut the grass yourself instead of having your kid or your next door neighbor's kid do it!

Additionally, do as much cardio work as you can... nothing better than a hard core!

If you want to add muscle (all around) and tone up... circuit train.... if you want huge muscles, eat a lot of fiber/protein and do an aggressive free weight routine (consult a personal trainer/doctor before starting this to make sure what you have in mind is safe for your body type and realistic)!

Have fun shedding the weight - so you guys can later enjoy being shirtless at the pool!

For you ladies... feel free to drop your top or bottoms while you're laying out at the beach! I'll be watching!!

P.S. - I haven't started circuit training or free weights, but the diet stuff I am already doing... along with walking, cutting the grass, eating less, etc.
