DRUNK DRIVER PREMIER MAY RESIGN
EXCLUSIVE: Bourque has learned that BC Premier Gordon Campbell may be about to announce his resignation as head of the provincial goverment and leader of the BC Liberal Party. Campbell, charged in Hawaii with drunk driving, has indicated he will not contest the charge. While at least three Cabinet Ministers are privately working the phones to marshal support for their own ascension to the top post, key sources inside the Liberal Party point to Education Minister and Deputy Premier Christy Clark as likely successor. Clark is a young mother and wife to Bourque addict Mark Marrissen, a consummate schmoozer and left coast communications consultant. As one insider put it on condition of anonymity, "Gordon's a good guy, but he's tainted now and he's got to go. He's smart enough to recognize that". Campbell recently told the Mayor of Maui that he wished he could spend more time at his Hawaii pied-a-terre, though it is unknown what post-political career awaits him.
