The USA is a country of democracy. The pulse of the people is what controls this country. Alot of the people who dont want war now, demanded it immediately post 911. Which gives the US a microwave popcorn/pizza delivery culture image.
People have to understand that world politics relays on a long term strategic plan, like a game of chess. The actions of the USA are directed to insure its people they can make money posting porn on the internet while drinking beer and bitching about how the US acts in world politics. To compare the current US democracy with a communist dictatorship is pure ignorance.
