My partner has had a lap band done. File away my ICQ number because there'll come a time when you need to talk to someone who has already had it done and we'll give you any advice we can.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and quite often the doctors don't tell you everything you need to know. Two years ago Marie almost died after she became malnourished - you wouldn't have known to look at her but when one smart doctor finally identified the problem she said that Marie was probably only weeks away from checking out.
And before some fleabrain comes in here sprouting bullshit about losing weight don't waste your breath. For some people there are medical reasons for putting on weight that just can't be controlled any other way than via a lap band or something similar.
