Hmmm... I bought my first domain on June 17th, 2003.
It took me until January 21st, 2005 to make $100+ a day on a consistent level.
I worked two jobs in 2003 so it wasn't until Feb, 2004 that I had begun to do this on a more consistent level.
I did everything wrong. I listened to people who said big ideas were for big people and I was not one of those people. I didn't take it as seriously as I should have. I didn't go out it scientifically and pay attention to my stats or learn how to read them properly.
When I did start taking it more seriously I quickly doubled that to $200+ by August. Then to $300+ by the end of August... But got burned out because I literally just worked. I slept about 4 to 6 hours a night and just worked the rest of the time. Took all meals in front of the computer and showered once or twice a week.
By September I was so burned out that when the money slipped back to $150 a day I didn't even give a shit... I made more than most people did and that was good enough for me...
By December I decided I needed to start finding things I could do that were more along the lines of set it and forget it. Like posting or running a TGP/MGP didn't fit that model. How often do you get paid for something you did 3 months ago on a TGP? It is rare...
One of the things I did was open a blog. My posts from December 2005 still pay me today. You have to love that.
