Boy George 'arrested for kidnapping'
Boy George has apparently been arrested in connection with an allegation of false imprisonment and assault.
According to The Sun newspaper, the former Culture Club frontman kidnapped 28-year-old Auden Carlsen, a Norwegian male escort, early on Saturday morning.
Boy George, 45, and another man handcuffed Mr Carlsen to a hook on the wall after inviting him to the singer's house in Shoreditch, east London, to pose for photographs, the newspaper reported.
Scotland Yard have confirmed that they are investigating an allegation of false imprisonment and common assault made by a 28-year-old male at an address in London EC2, believed to have occurred in the early hours of Saturday.
A police spokesman said: "Hackney CID are investigating and a man in his 40s has been arrested in connection with the allegation. He was originally taken to an east London police station but has subsequently been bailed to return on a date in July pending further inquiries."
The Sun reported Mr Carlsen as saying: "I was convinced I was going to die."
The escort reportedly pulled the hook from the wall and fled to a nearby newsagent's, from where he alerted the police.
Last year Boy George - real name George O'Dowd - was given community service in New York after pleading guilty to falsely reporting a burglary at his lower Manhattan apartment. The officers who responded found cocaine instead.
