People are probably
assuming he knew because a reputable source said that they suspected he has been involved in dog fighting.... it is reasonable to assume that he knew since he was suspected of engaging in dog fighting, then one day they find 60 dogs on a property he owns....
Also, comparing this situation with CP is fallacious to say the least..
