It's a pretty specific point that this article makes and only is relevant for advanced people who are really, really into either bodybuilding or powerlifting, not beginners at either. But it makes sense. I train more for gaining size rather than maximum strength. Of course one gains both with training, but depending on how you train, progress at one or the other will likely predominate. Even at only 155 lbs my chest is much bigger in totality and also in proportion to the rest of my torso than a lot of guys I see in the gym who can bench press almost twice what I can bench press. Some of that is because a few of those guys are more into powerlifitng but mostly because a lot of them aren't really training right.
