When it comes to a crime this big, tag the parents too regardless of the kids age cos surely they have a hand in what their kids have become.

That's all you think? I think they were guilty of being ignorant selfish pricks who could care less to know what was going on in their kids little heads ie. if they were going wacko otherwise they'd spend time with their kids, find out what they were upto at all times, knew what's in their rooms specially if the room belonged to a home owned or rented by parents if not, put them in the next cell as their kids let that be in jail or the graveyard. Don't make kids if you are gonna be uncapable of raising them properly
