I think people still believe we are living in the 1900's. Guns are more and more easier to come, and things like this will continue to happen. Im sure the guy had some huge mental problems and just snapped but you cant blame this on the ability to carry a gun (im not with or against gun carry, thats a different story, so my opinion is not biased that way). I mean you allow people to drive a car, what stops them from driving thru a crowded sporting event with a H2 full of home made explosives?
I think its time we started to "adapt" to society. Such as, in schools maybe should be metal detectors and random screenings. Of course its going to slow things down, but look at any airport. When was the last time you were at the terminal and some guy pulled out a 9mm and shot up the place?
Precautions are what is going to prevent this and similar things from happening. The fear of social outcast and being sent to jail or prison does not scare people like it did in 1908, so people today are more reluctant to commit harsh crimes.
I guess a good example is what I hear from my parents when they were kids. When they were in school and you acted out, you got beat the fuck up by the nun or teacher. Kids were scared and that led to them not acting out. Compared to today, you cant even pull two kids away from fighting without YOU the teacher being fearful of getting sued by the parents. I know full well that if my ass was to be beat with some wooden stick when i was younger, I would of never done half the shit I did.
We live in more fear from being sued then we do of doing wrong. If we dont do anything to change that, this will never get better and shit like this will continue to happen
