Genesis is purported to be a historical record of the beginings of life on earth and is perhaps one of the best known stories in circulation, even today, and yet nobody really knows where this tale came from or what it really means.
However there are striking similarities between much of what's written in Genesis and the much earlier "The Hymn to the Aton" of the Egyptian Pharaoh
Akhenaton, and when we consider that much of Judaism clearly has it's roots in Egypt and on the life of this important Egyptian Pharoah then for a better understanding of this enigmatic document it is to ancient Egypt we must look for answers, however if we re-evaluate Genesis in this new light then it quickly becomes apparent that it has very little to do with the begginings of life on earth.
