He seems to offer practical advice... but he has a corporate job, his wife is a teacher with a government salary/benefits package... and they have to make a drastic life change to afford that second kid? I started reading at the beginning of his blog, and have went through a couple of month's worth of posts. What I have liked about it so far is that he is someone who dug himself one hell of a financial hole, and seems to have found a way out. (assuming that last part, because I've not read far enough yet) There seems to be some material about considering your relationship with money, why you spend, etc.
I like those kind of things. They seem more 'real' to me than reading some analyst spout stuff I don't understand.
Edit: I like Dave Ramsey for the same reason.
