Security at the auto show was nonexistent, and a guy pulled out a gun to threaten another guy in the lobby where people were crammed in to get tickets. Police showed up within 1 minute, and no shots were fired, but it was a scary-as-hell situation being stuck in a crowded place with a mad ass carrying a gun. The Javits center had a few security guards with handheld metal detectors, but they weren't using them and were just waving people in unchecked. Don't go!
