The second paragraph: I don't want her back, but I will admit that I don't want her to think of me as the monster Mark's been trying to convince her that I am. So, yes, I do want her to think I'm still the same person I was for the 5 years before we met Mark. Not to get her back, but to let her see reality instead of the picture Mark's been painting.
