only one way for debris to fall faster then gravity my friend..and that is if theywere ejected with a much bigger force IE explosions.
the explosions that went off are what is causing stuff to fall faster then the speed of gravity..the explosions also caused plane sized pieces of steel to fly hundreds of metres horizontally.
