I also look for very specific stuff - smoking fetish shot in a way that will appeal to a smoking fetish audience. I can't tell you how many "bigger producers" over the last 6 years have told me "that's not a problem at all" - and then I end up with a shoot that I've paid in advance for, that's basically mainstream porn with a girl just holding a cigarette, or just puffing and not inhaling - something that's useless to me and gets thrown in the trash. That makes it hard to just say to someone "OK, here's your $X,XXX" - do the shoot. I could take a *really* nice vacation with all the money I've tossed down the toilet for shoots like that |

In the situation you are describing.....I would say either don;t go with the smaller producer OR put everything in writing and met halfway as far as the finances are concerned.
Fetishes are difficult to shoot. Smoking or whatever the fetish may be, I don;t know a damn thing about bondage or S&M so anybody who hires me to shoot is is a retard.

As such, I would decline the work whereas a lot of other producers will take what they can get.
My suggestion to your specific situation is simple:
Find a producer who communicates well with you. Fly to their place of business and work with them hand in hand for a couple of shoots. This way they can not only see the finished product but they also get to see EXACTLY how you want it produced. This will cost some money out of your pocket but at the end of the day, it's well worth it since you will be getting exactly what you expect/want/need.
