The cost per gig isn't always the deciding factor.
- fewer drives create less heat
- (3) 1TB drives make 2TB Raid-5 as compared to (5-6) 500GB or (7-8) 320GB drives
- fewer drives take less power
- fewer drives take less space
- larger drives have faster data transfer
- I like the 750GB Seagates and I could put 9 drives in it easy for 6TB Raid-5
